Many phrases were used to describe Beyoncé’s performance during the February 2017 Grammy Awards: beautiful, creepy, a celebration of motherhood, strange, daring, idolatrous, incredible, demonic, spiritual… Personally, I have read just about every adjective except the one it actually is – A WARNING from God, Father of Jesus.
“Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.”
– Amos 3:7
By itself Beyoncé’s performance may be argued to be whatever you personally watched and felt, reflective of where you are in life and your relationship to God – denial/separated or reconciled. However, when considered in the context of the MANY other related mainstream signs, images and happenings just in the past few months alone, including: the Super Bowl, The Oscars, world/political events and the NFL draft, Beyoncé’s Grammy performance is consistent with those in nature and a clear message of warning from God about the events to come – Revelation and the Tribulation.
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”
– Acts 2:17
As you watch the video attached, here are just a few of the visions and symbols I noted as it relates to God’s Word in the Bible.
It begins with a visual of the opening lines of Revelation 12. Beyoncé is shown as the “virgin” in the heavens, clothed with the sun and wearing a crown. She is pregnant (notice it’s “twins” – God/Jesus vs Satan) and about to give birth – JUST like Revelation 12 states.
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”
– Genesis 1:14
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
– Psalm 19:1
She then speaks about “being born,” which relates to the son (The New Church, Jesus as ruler/head) being born in Revelation 12.
You will find many parallels and symbolism apparent, reaching all the way back to Genesis in the Bible: false deities from the Middle East, Asia and Africa, as well as the story of God’s redemption offered to mankind through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Granted, the performance portions viewed in the light of our true Creator seem as mocking and blasphemous, where Satan has turned and twisted the original meaning for his own delusions for mankind. However, I want to instead highlight what I believe is the “intent” from God, which is to provide us these obvious and blatant signs to capture our attention and put us on watch for His plan that is unfolding – the Coming Judgment of the earth.
I’m not here to bash the performance and its darker meanings – believe me, there’s lots of disturbing and sick aspects. Instead, the “positive” that captured my attention was the goodness of God’s grace, love and mercy, alerting us ahead of what’s to come, so we are not caught “asleep” as were 5 of the 10 in the Parable of the Virgins (Christians).
“It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.” – Proverbs 25:2
Besides the eerie computer generated motions and reverse movements, watch “wings” appear as Beyoncé’s arms (0:40 and again at 2:15), symbolic of the two wings of an eagle that take the woman (Israel, possibly America?) to safety for the first 1,260 days of the Tribulation. In that same visual, God may be reminding us of the wings of the false deity Egyptian goddess Isis. Transforming from mother to also a goddess is a twisted view of the “son who will rule” (with an iron septor), as found in Revelation 12. Also note the old Isis goddess reference as it relates to what we know today as the other ISIS. Additionally, the goddess Isis is known as the goddess of health, marriage and wisdom. Notice how that relates to current world events involving healthcare reform, new marriage laws and the wisdom to know right from wrong.
At the 1 minute mark, there’s a reference to the false Hindu deities with many arms, like Kali and/or Parvati. Bringing these false deities to “life,” you may now start to envision how the great delusion will unfold, where world/heavenly events will be interpreted by those already led astray, that their false gods are real and lead them away from the truth of the true Creator. This similarly applies to those who now look to political leaders and government as their god.
At the 1:40 mark, there are creepy visuals and then the birth of the son (reference Revelation 12) is shown, but note it’s not just one child, but twins – one chasing the other. To me this is symbolic of both the creation of man and woman, and it seems to point to the coming battle of The Tribulation – God/Jesus/The Church vs. Satan, good vs. evil, as seen throughout the Bible – sons at war with one another. Also, it was interesting to note that the sex of Beyoncé’s twins is said to be one male and one female.
If Revelation 12 is about the birth of God’s New Church, it’s interesting that Beyoncé is singing about the “love of her life,” which is the same thing Jesus tells us is His love for The Church.
At the 3 minute mark, 12 women or worshipers appear wearing pointy headgear/halos, which is reminiscent of the 12 stars mentioned in Revelation 12; Jacob’s 12 sons; the 12 Tribes of Israel; the 12 Disciples of Jesus; 12 loaves of bread on the Tabernacle table as a regular food offering, etc. The 12 then become 24, striking a parallel with Revelation.
“After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.’ At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder.”
– Revelation 4: 1-5
Around the 3:25 mark, the 24 are seen at a table with Beyoncé at the head (throne). This is suggestive of the Banquet Table and/or The Last Supper of Jesus, when Beyoncé and the 24 (worshipers/disciples) lean in their chairs. Interestingly enough, leaning in the chair is also found in the described verses of the Last Supper, as well as being the exact shape of the Virgo constellation, which is in the birthing position, reflective of Revelation 12.
“All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: ‘Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!’”
– Revelation 7: 11-12
Additional meaning and symbolism may be interpreted in the verses of the song “Love Drought” as it applies to God, Jesus and the falling away of mankind (again) and His Church during the 2,000 years following Jesus’ resurrection.
Notice the single yellow light in the background around the 6:28 mark and also seen near the very beginning of the performance, which is consistent with the “clothed in the sun” portion of Revelation 12. It also symbolically reminds me of our sun and its description as well as its coming role/future (not in the New Jerusalem).
Additional meaning may be understood from the lyrics of “Sandcastles,” regarding a broken relationship and promises, pain, hurting and reconciliation, which is consistent with the story of our relationship with God and His forgiveness through His offering of Jesus, if we accept Him as our only chance to be saved from the lake of fire.
Beyoncé mentions a curse that “will be broken,” whereas Christians believe that curse is already broken through Jesus and will be felt in full completion and healing at God’s judgment of the earth and mankind, followed by His renewal and new creation.
Notice that out of the 24 “elders” in the performance, 6 are lying “dead” in the flowers around Beyoncé, 6 are sitting down behind her, and 12 are “dead/asleep” near the table. At the end of the performance, all 24 rise up from their death/sleep, while Beyoncé references the number 1,000 (girls) and that reconciliation is completed in the hope of it being glorious. Similarly Revelation concludes with God’s completion of judgment of mankind and the renewal for His people as it ushers in 1,000 years of peace and a sin-free New Jerusalem, with Satan bound for the same 1,000 years. Glorious indeed!
“Indeed, fire will devour Your enemies. Lord, You will establish peace for us, since You have also performed for us all our works. O Lord our God, other masters besides You have ruled us; but through You alone we confess Your name. The dead will not live, the departed spirits will not rise; therefore You have punished and destroyed them, and You have wiped out all remembrance of them. You have increased the nation, O Lord, You have increased the nation, You are glorified; You have extended all the borders of the land. O Lord, they sought You in distress; they could only whisper a prayer, your chastening was upon them. As the pregnant woman approaches the time to give birth, she writhes and cries out in her labor pains, thus were we before You, O Lord. We were pregnant, we writhed in labor; we gave birth, as it seems, only to wind. We could not accomplish deliverance for the earth, nor were inhabitants of the world born. Your dead will live; their corpses will rise. You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy, for your dew is as the dew of the dawn, and the earth will give birth to the departed spirits. Come, my people, enter into your rooms and close your doors behind you; Hide for a little while until indignation runs its course. For behold, the Lord is about to come out from His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; and the earth will reveal her bloodshed and will no longer cover her slain.”
– Isaiah 26: 11-21
Again, please do NOT interpret the above comments as embracing Beyoncé’s performance as good Christian entertainment, because it’s NOT – it’s flawed with all sorts of anti-God and inaccurate sentiment as it relates to our Creator’s Word. Rest assured it is certain not to win any Dove Awards for performance of the year. Nonetheless, its images and symbolism are so striking in context to timing, stage/audience, occurrence and consistency with potential parallels as it relates to our out-of-control sinful world and other events pointing to the very real possibility of God’s impending judgment.
Also, please, if you are not reconciled to God through your acceptance of Jesus, do NOT delay one minute – ask Him to reveal Himself to you and change your heart. Being “a good person” is insufficient, as none of us are good/worthy compared to God’s Law. In fact, Paul tells us our deeds submitted to justify our salvation are viewed as filthy rags to God – we can never meet His standard unless we cling to Christ. If you do not understand this and wish to know or ask questions, please contact me – do NOT wait. God’s window of grace is closing quickly and attempting to survive the Tribulation is the worst imaginable experience “through the fire.” The only thing worse is being tossed into the lake of fire for rejecting Jesus.
“And he sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come.”
– Matthew 22:3
“The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent word to them again and again by His messengers, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place; but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, until there was no remedy.”
– 2 Chronicles 36: 15-16
“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
– Jeremiah 33:3
